DIRECTORS
Chuck Eady is a graduate of Florida State University, where he earned
his Bachelors Degree in Instrumental Music Education. He then
earned a Masters Degree from Memphis State University. Mr.
Eady has been an active high school band director for over 30 years.
His bands have consistently received Superior ratings in both the
concert and marching arenas with many 'Best in Class' as well as a
Grand Champion Award and a performance at the Alabama Music
Educators Conference. Mr. Eady is a sought after clinician and
adjudicator throughout the southeast. He currently teaches Marching
Band, Symphonic Band, and Beginning Band
at Pleasant Grove High School.
His professional affiliations include the Alabama Music Educators
Association, MENC, Phi Beta Mu, and the Alabama Bandmasters Association, an
organization in which he now serves as the Vice-President/President
Elect. Corey B. M. Pompey comes to Pleasant Grove High School from the University of Alabama where he received his graduate and undergraduate degrees in music education. He served the university in a variety of musical, leadership, and educational roles some of which include drum major of the Million Dollar Band, graduate assistant in the University of Alabama School of Music, and assistant conductor of the renowned Alabama Wind Ensemble. Mr. Pompey had the great fortune of studying with the finest pedagogues in the areas of instrumental education and conducting. His saxophone teacher was Jonathan Noffsinger. Gerald Loren Welker and Kenneth Ozzello guided his conducting studies. In the spring of 2006, Mr. Pompey served as one of the founding conductors of the Tuscaloosa Winds, a community band comprised of educators, community members, and university students. His professional affiliations include MENC: The National Association for Music Education, the Alabama Music Educators Association, the Alabama Bandmasters Association, and the National Band Association. Mr. Pompey is the conductor of the Pleasant Grove Intermediate Band. In addition, he teaches and assists in all areas of the band program. |
